The podcast provided a good overview of the background and case for change. My main takeaways were that: - The curriculum is currently too cluttered and so this needs to be decluttered to allow space for depth of learning to occur. -The new curriculum plan hopes to allow for more guidance and clarity regarding progression whilst allowing flexibility to ensure learning is tailored to learners needs. - Learners were transitioning to secondary education with varied knowledge across curricular areas. - Content is not the same as knowledge. - Financial literacy is particularly important in Numeracy and this needs to be embedded across the curriculum so learners understand the relevance and importance of maths in the real world. - New framework has been developed to keep the curriculum clear and concise and is moving into the next stages.
